I chose ten photos so far to put in my ‘Best Photos’ set on flickr. All of these photos I feel have a story behind them and are each unique in their own way.
I chose The Openness of Columns because I liked the lines and the shades in it. When I took it, I had no idea how intricate and complex one of the columns that flanks Ball Hall could look when seen from the correct angle.
Looking Up The Staircase has great lines and colors in it. The lit dome of the skylight in the Ball Hall lobby stands out sharply in comparison to the darker floors that are bellow it.
The angle at which I took Plug Into Me is what makes me love it in part. The contrast between the old wall of the parlor and the wooden floor compared to the modern electrical outlet also make me love it.
Nothing Says NYC Like A Taxi is really enhanced by the color splash that I did to it. By making the Taxi the only thing in color, it really stands out when, in reality, when I took the photo, I had planned upon making the model, who is having her photo shot in Time Square, the focus.
Bathtime is all about happiness. My ducks love nothing more in the world than splashing around in the containers of water we have in our back yard for them. I love the movement of the water in the photo and the way that the duck in the water is looking at the camera.
Katniss Gets Photobombed will always be one of my favorite photos. Ducks make the silliest expressions, which is one of the many things that I love about them. I love the photo for the movement and the water that Katniss is happily splashing around in as much as I love the little duck in the right foreground seemingly grinning at the camera.
Cohen, Gus, and RuPaul Charles are what make Three Ducks Grooming so amazing. They are all in different positions as they groom themselves yet they are lined up nearly perfectly, making it look as if they are one duck in three stages of grooming.
The Skylight reminds me of the sun and its rays. The skylight’s age is shown through the peeling paint and dirty windows of it which adds to its charm. This photo also shows how amazing my hyperzoom camera is, as it looks as if I was right up close to the skylight when in reality I was laying about 30-40 feet under it.
The lines of Converging Bricks are what make me find it so great. The photo is so simple yet so complicated with all the bricks aligned perfectly together.
I love The Wavy Couch for its lines as well as its colors. Almost everything in the photo has a different pattern, from the checkered floor to the wavy fabric of the couch to the printed wallpaper behind the couch. Yet, despite all the different patterns and colors, the photo looks cohesive and interesting and not like a big mess.
